FFWD>> is a year long programme designed to fast forward music development for young people across Wales.
By funding music projects, showcases, research and development and more all over the country. Check out our Atsain Network and get involved!
The Anthem Gateway is for young people who want to learn about the music industry, explore opportunities and connect with other young creatives.
From music quizzes and sponsored concerts to online auctions, there’s lots of fun things you can do to help empower young people in Wales through music.
Up until joining the Anthem youth forum I had been told as a disabled person that the music industry wasn’t really a place for me... Now, I’ve gone on to be funded by Arts Council Wales to look at how disability can be supported within mainstream music. That wouldn’t have happened without Anthem
The potential is there for Anthem to have a major impact on strategic developments in music education and development for young people in Wales because of their commitment, experience, knowledge and connections.
I've gained confidence speaking to people which is valuable as I now feel more comfortable going up to people to network and ask questions. I also feel I have a better understanding of the industry especially in Wales. Since joining I've been working on my own music and no longer feel lost on where to start with recording/releasing/gigging for the first time.
I feel because of the online sessions, I have met lots of professionals who I could ask for help
or advice when applying to funding. The face to face collaborations project has improved my
creative practice as I was able to learn about how lots of different people utilise their own
different creative practices, which has enabled me to develop my own.
The Atsain Network is really valuable to me as a place to share sector leading practice in Wales. I would not have been aware of the many excellent projects and people working in this sector without the regular Network meetings. My own practice has been sharpened and envisioned by participating in the Network. Importantly, I've also been able to make connections with other people and organisations to cross-fertilise.
The (Atsain) network has built up a level of trust such that practitioners can be open about their challenges. For example, I recall one person who was quite paralysed about their struggles with gathering youth voice feedback and fear of completion reports and other network members were able to offer a raft of practical and simple strategies right there and then.
Our online gateway is for young people who want to learn about the music industry and get involved. We provide education, placement opportunities and chances to connect with other young creatives.
You can find all the latest Anthem news right here in our blog, including updates from our CEO, articles by our youth forum and reports on our research.
